Connie Simpson — Registered Dental Hygienist
I was born in Fairmont, West Virginia, and graduated from West Virginia University school of Dental Hygiene. I have worked at Simpson Dental
Associates since 1984. Currently, I work as a bookkeeper and I am a registered dental hygienist. I enjoy seeing patients experience transformation in our office. It gives me great joy to see beautiful, smiling faces and realize that I had a part in making that happen for them. Our dental team is caring and concerned and the best I have ever seen. I am proud to work with a staff that cares so much for the patients.
Kay Utterback — Registered Dental Hygienist
I was born in Fairmont, West Virginia. My family moved to Ripley when I was one, and I graduated from Ripley High School in 1977. I moved to Harrisville, West Virginia, for two years, then back to Ripley. I started working in the dental field in a lab in Ripley. I then moved to St. Albans, where I worked in a dental office while I went to dental hygiene school at West Virginia Institute of Technology.
I started working at Simpson Dental Associates in May 2005 as a dental hygienist. I enjoy helping patients take good care of their teeth, not just for their oral health but for their overall health as well. I am proud to be part of a team utilizing the most sophisticated technology for treating periodontal disease. The results are awesome. It is a pleasure to work for Drs. Mark and Christen Simpson. It is a joy to know that every patient is receiving the best dental care available in a comfortable and relaxed atmosphere.
Judy Maynor — Dental Lab Manager
I grew up in Amma, Roane County. I went to school in Spencer, West Virginia, and I started working for Simpson Dental Associates in January 1986. I am the head lab technician. My job has been so rewarding over the years getting to work with patients, building them beautiful smiles. I love the feeling I get when I help someone feel better about his or her smile. Unlike commercial labs, our in-house lab allows us to work one-on-one with the doctor and patient to achieve a perfect case in a timely manner.
Jessica Proctor — Dental Lab Technician
I was born in Pontiac, Michigan. I moved to Charleston at an early age, where I spent most of my childhood. I have two children, and we live in St. Albans. I started working for Simpson Dental Associates on my birthday, March 9, 2001. I am the implant coordinator and CEREC operator, and I work up all the lab cases. I have a very rewarding job that I love. We are continually learning and have a great team, which makes it a great atmosphere for work.
Tammy Beasley — Certified Dental Assistant & Patient Care Coordinator
My story began as a 15-year-old interning for Dr. Robert Simpson, or Dr. Bob as his patients called him. I was in a technical school and accepted an intern position with Dr. Bob. I did not know much about dentistry, and Dr. Bob was a skilled clinician performing full mouth rehabilitation for many of his patients. I worked in the on-site dental laboratory, pouring up models and waxing up inlays and onlays to learn the anatomy of teeth. I worked my way up to becoming Dr. Bob’s primary dental assistant and managed up to six dental assistants.
Dr. Bob retired in 1992, and at that time, I became Dr. Mark’s primary assistant. Dr. Mark Simpson primarily performed surgical procedures, and I became a first-rate surgical assistant. Together, we placed more than 10,000 dental implants and a wide variety of other surgical procedures.
After 35 years of dental assisting, I am now working at the front desk with patients, answering questions about treatment and finances. My many years of experience have made me a valuable asset, as well as one of the key team players at Simpson Dental Associates. When you visit the office, be sure to take a minute to say “Hi” to me. It is my pleasure to help you.
