Simpson Dental Associates is committed to preserving natural teeth whenever it is possible. However, if a tooth is not restorable, we have many options available to help us remove the tooth while keeping you comfortable. Utilizing state-of-the-art technology such as the Spectra® Carbon Dioxide Laser, Piezo® surgical unit, and the Easy Extract® are all options to ensure that you feel as comfortable as possible throughout your time at our office. We may recommend tooth extraction if:
- A tooth is so severely damaged or decayed that an effective restoration (such as a filling, inlay, onlay, or crown) is not possible
- Serious infection has destroyed a large portion of the tooth and supporting bone structure
- There is not enough room for all of the teeth to properly fit in the mouth, resulting in severe crowding that cannot be corrected through orthodontic treatment alone
- A baby (primary) tooth is not falling out as usual and is blocking the way for an erupting permanent tooth
For the apprehensive patient, all levels of sedation dentistry are available. Our dentists will take the time necessary to address any of your concerns; your comfort and wellbeing are our first concern. We invite you to contact Drs. Mark and Christen Simpson today to learn more about tooth extraction in Charleston, West Virginia, and to schedule your next appointment with our friendly team.
