More commonly known as root canal therapy, there have been huge advancements in the last several years. This has resulted in a more efficient delivery of care that is mch more predictable and comfortable.
Teeth can become endodontically involved for many reasons. The most common reasons are decay and trauma. A tooth can require endodontics, and we may not know the cause. The most common cause is infection. You may not be aware that you have infection or you may be in pain from the infection. Regardless of the cause, the tooth must be treated to be saved.
Most people have little or no discomfort with endodontics. Very rarely an individual might experience some swelling, but this is primarily from teeth that have had untreated infection for a long time. Delaying proper care always complicates treatment. Like Dr. Mark always tells his patients, ’’If you have a leak in your roof, waiting only makes it more expensive and harder to correct. If you think quality care is expensive, try neglect.’’ The moral to the story is to get treatment early on a tooth that is compromised. You will save your teeth and your money!
